The collection consists primarily of the correspondence of Father Carroll. Many of the letters discuss aspects of the liturgical weeks, the liturgical movement and work with the blind. The collection also includes letters and photographs from Rev. Dekan George Nigles of Frankfurt, Germany. The materials from Nigles relate to the general condition of Frankfurt, Germany, including the city's religious life, after World War II.

Catholic priest. A native of Hamburg, Germany, Reinhold was ordained in 1925. He directed the German Sea Apostolate, and then came to the United States in 1936, serving in the Archdiocese of Seattle, and later the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Jesuit liturgist and author. Ellard joined the Jesuits in 1912 and was ordained in 1926. He taught at St. Mary's College, Kansas from 1932 until his death. Catholic priest and author. Carroll was born in Gloucester, MA in 1909. He studied at Holy Cross College and St. John's Seminary, as was ordained in 1938. He served as assistant to the Director of the Catholic Guild for the Blind, and became Director in 1946. Carroll was also active in the liturgical movement. He died in 1971.
